1. HEADBANDS
This trend is twofold -- Headbands are a spectacular way to spice up a classic evening hair-do, think jewel-tones, crystals, ribbon and double bands, or, go boho a laNicole Richie. All are especially hot right now. Also, headbands are also a great way to avert a summer hair catastrophe. You can whisk humidity-laden frizz right off of your face during a work-out or simply a hot summer day and still be style conscious.
2. Bang it out with BANGS!
Don't shy away from this trend because you're having flash-backs of your 3rd grade class picture! Relax, there is a bang length for everyone. Bangs are a perfect way to switch up your look and frame your face without getting a drastic haircut, be it the classic fringe (check out Kim Kardashian or J.Lo) or a bang with a razored texture like Rihanna.
3. Keep cool with a PONYTAIL!
Ponytails were all over the runways for Spring '09. This trend will definitely carry over into summer. Don't get spooked by the stiff, slicked-back, head-ache rendering ponytails of the past! Think volume with a slight pouf at the crown like the trendsetting Ms. Beyonce wore while promoting her new album. You can incorporate headbangs and bangs to create a fab ponytail that everyone will envy!
4. Long luxurious WAVES!
Now we ladies have all yearned for those long, luscious Alicia Keys waves....but now back to reality! Most of us are growing out last season's hot trend: that Victoria Beckham bob. Soooo, never fear....clip in hair is here!! I know you didn't think that all those celebrities didn't cheat a little bit. Well now you can too. Zuri makes an excellent inexpensive human hair "fall" that will keep your friends guessing.
I've saved the best for last.........
5. Rich, warm yummy COLOR!
Say good bye to the brassy blonde "streaks" from last summer, because you're probably still trying to repair the damage that hi-lites wreaked on your relaxed hair. Kiss those cool ashy winter tones farewell and usher in some warm all-over color and brighten up your face. Think golden browns, rich golden reds and sunny Mary J. blondes.
